Office of H.M.Trade Commis ne:
Asiatic Building,
HONGKONG.
15th August, 1954.
I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your letter No.1371/33° of 13th August conveying to me an expression of His Excellency The Governor's appre-
ciation of my part in connection with the negotiation of
the revise: Kowloon-Canton Railway working agreement.
While it was good of the Chairman of the long-
Kong delegation favourably to mention the small part
I played in this matter, I venture to express my opin-
ion that the satisfactory conclusion was entirely due
to the excellent manner in which the negotiations were
conducted by the Hong Kong delegates.

Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
Sir Thomas Southorn, K.C.M.G.,
Hon. Colonial Secretary,
HONGKONG.
(SGD) G. C. PELHAM.
